Security, not a marketing slide
Here's exactly what's encrypted, what we can and can't see, and how reports actually get handled.
- End-to-end encrypted, every message
- Never stored in plaintext on our servers
- Biometric + PIN, plus a lock on individual chats
- Leave a group without a notification announcing it
Your keys, your devices
Every message, voice note, and photo is encrypted before it ever leaves your device, and that stays true across every device you're logged into. We don't hold a master key • a lost password can't be 'reset' by us reading your chats, because we never could.

Locked down, chat by chat
Biometric and PIN lock protect the whole app, and individual chats can be locked separately • so one conversation can stay hidden even if someone else has your phone unlocked.

Encrypted backup and restore
Your backup is encrypted too, not just the live chat. Switch phones, restore your history, and nothing sits on a server somewhere in plain text waiting to be read.

Your contact list stays private too
Finding your contacts on Gistnode uses hashed matching, not an upload of your raw address book sitting on our servers forever.
Reporting & safety
Encryption protects your conversations. These protect the community around them.
Report to a human
Reports go to a real reviewer, not an automated queue that never replies.
Block, fully
A blocked contact can't reach you again • no workaround chat requests.
Leave silently
Exit a group without a notification announcing it to everyone.
